The highlight of September is Bach, Finnish style!

Risto-Matti Marin, a pianist among the leading Finnish pianists and a Doctor of Music, will guide us through Finnish romantic Bach piano transcriptions at the Angelicum Hall in Helsinki’s Kruununhaka on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 3:30 PM. This concert offers a unique and rare opportunity to hear how Erkki Melartin, Taneli Kuusisto, Ilmari Hannikainen, and Karl Ekman interpreted the Baroque master 100 years ago. Best of all, the concert will be introduced by Tuulikki Närhinsalo, daughter of Taneli Kuusisto and a music and cultural influencer. She will speak about her father’s composing and arranging work as well as his relationship with Bach. Read Närhinsalo’s interview from Kotiliesi here.

Tuulikki Närhinsalo’s introduction starts at 3:30 PM, with the main concert beginning at 4 PM. The concert will last until about 5 PM.
