About possible cancellations
If a participant has to cancel their course participation before the end of the registration period, the course fee will be refunded, except for the processing fee of €4.50.
If a participant has to cancel their course participation after the last registration day (regardless of the reason, e.g. illness), the course fee will not be refunded. The exception is a situation where the organizer can take someone from the queue to replace them or the participant finds someone else to replace them.
If the course has to be canceled on behalf of the organizer, e.g. due to a low number of participants, the course fee and processing fees will be refunded in full to the participant.

TO WHOM
Professionals, students and advanced amateurs in the wide field of performing arts. This beginner’s course is for all who are interested in exploring their own personal ridiculousness with the help of theater clowning.
No previous clowning experience is necessary.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The five-day clown course introduces the basics of theater clowning; we do physical theater exercises, play, explore our own and others' ridiculousness in a safe atmosphere and give birth to clowns.
The aim of the course is e.g. tolerating failure, appreciating mistakes, becoming aware of your own ridiculousness, taking yourself less seriously…and above all, having fun!

TEACHER
Soile Mäkelä (TeM) is a founding member of Teatteri Metamorfoosi and a theater teacher who graduated from the University of the Arts Helsinki, Theatre Academy in 2008. She approaches theater-making from a physical point of view, in the spirit of the French Lecoq pedagogy. Soile's most important teachers and inspirations on his own clowning journey have been Giovanni Fusetti, Mario Gonzalez, Pierre Byland and Philippe Gaulier, and of course all of Soile's own numerous clown course students (ks. portrait), with whom she has been able to unravel the great mystery of clownery.

The workshop is held during the winter holiday of Uusimaa region 16.–20.2.2026
Mon–Fri 10am-5pm (including 1 h lunch break and a shorter coffee break per day)
